Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 September 2026
By using Tartaris you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you don't, don't use it. Please read the section called Disputes: it says most disagreements are settled by individual arbitration, not in court or as part of a class action.
What Tartaris is
A training log for lifters that estimates your strength and when you may be ready for a personal record, tracks the food and body weight that go with it, and connects lifters with coaches.
What Tartaris is not
It is not medical advice. Predictions, estimated maxes, warm-ups, badges and calorie estimates are calculated guesses from numbers you entered. They can be wrong. If you have a medical condition, are injured, pregnant, or unsure whether a session is safe, ask a doctor before training.
Training carries a real risk of injury, and you take that risk. How you train is your decision. You agree that you use Tartaris, follow any program, and act on any coach's advice at your own risk.
Calorie and macro estimates are estimates. They come from an AI model or a public food database and are shown as editable numbers because you should check them. Don't rely on them for a medical diet, a weight cut for a competition class, or a food allergy.
Your account
You must be at least 13 to use Tartaris, and 18 to be a coach or to pay for coaching. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
What you post
You own what you log and post. By posting you give us permission to store it and show it to the audience your settings allow, only to run Tartaris.
Follow the Community Guidelines. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these terms and can remove the accounts that posted it.
Don't post other people's photos, videos or music without permission. How to report copyright infringement is in our Copyright Policy.
Coaching
Coaches are independent. Coaches on Tartaris run their own businesses. They are not our employees or agents, and we don't check their qualifications beyond the identity checks our payment provider carries out. Choosing a coach, and following their advice, is your decision.
Paying a coach. Coaching is paid through Stripe. The coach sets the price. Stripe's own terms apply to payments, and card details go to Stripe, not to us. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
For coaches. Coaching through Tartaris is also governed by the Coach Agreement, which you accept before taking payments. It covers the coach subscription, our fee on client payments, and how payouts work.
Badges and leaderboards
Badges and rankings are worked out from what people log. They are for fun and motivation and are not verified results. Logging lifts you didn't do breaks these terms.
Availability and liability
Tartaris is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, that predictions or estimates are accurate, or that data will never be lost. Export your data from Settings if you want a copy you control.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for injury arising from training, or for anything a coach does or advises. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of content you posted or your breach of these terms.
Disputes
Talk to us first. Email us and give us 30 days to try to sort it out.
Arbitration. If we can't, any dispute between you and us will be settled by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Either of us may instead bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
No class actions. Claims can only be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class or representative action.
Opting out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms, with your username and a line saying you opt out.
Law. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas and the United States, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Account. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect and ask you to agree again.
